40 Years of Intentional Excellence: The History of the Center for Leadership Development
“In order to get there . . . you must start here.”
Human potential, like the universe, is constantly expanding. Giant leaps in business, technology, science, and engineering have been not only significant in propelling man outward, but also in helping to solve many of the problems that exist here on Earth.
In order to continue making great strides in technology, and at the same time make our world a better place in which to live, it is important to develop the most abundant resource that we have—people.
In Indianapolis, Indiana, there is an organization that is charged with developing the human resources of a specific population segment. It is called the Center for Leadership Development. Conceived in the mind of a visionary businessman and built in cooperation with Lilly Endowment and the Indiana University School of Business, the CLD is dedicated to improving the quality and quantity of minorities in business and the professions through programs for minority youth, minority professionals, and the recognition of minority achievers across a broad spectrum of fields.
This is the CLD story.”
