Marva Hunt to lead organization’s efforts in furthering the CLD mission by promoting volunteer work and fundraising through leadership of Alumni Association
INDIANAPOLIS – The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) is proud to announce Marva Hunt will serve as its next President of the CLD Alumni Association (CLDAA). Marva is a 1982 CLD Alumna, and has been very involved in the organizations success as a volunteer facilitator and member of the CLDAA board.
“We are so excited to have Marva serving in such a tremendous capacity,” said CLD President Dennis Bland. “Marva has been a vital asset to our Alumni Association Board, and I am most confident that she will continue to thrive in her new role as President and will help move our organization forward in making a measurable impact on our city’s African American youth.”
In addition to her new role with the CLDAA, Marva serves as the Director of Undergraduate Programs for Kelley School of Business Indianapolis where she develops strategic initiatives for long-term planning and oversees all aspects of enrollment management. Marva describes her career path as one that has allowed her to fulfill a life-long dream:
“At Kelley and now with CLD, I am blessed to be able to wake up and help inspire others to pursue and reach their dreams, regardless of age class, sex, race, or gender,” said Hunt. “I am a proud product of the Indianapolis Public School system and Alumna of CLD and have seen firsthand how this institution cultivates exceptional future leaders. I am honored to return home to CLD, and greatly look forward to helping nurture the bright minds of the next generation.”
Before joining Kelley, Marva was a Program Chair, Department Chair, and Interim Dean at Ivy Tech Community College for the School of Business. During this time, she collaborated with Kelley on partnerships (TSAP – Transfer Single Articulation Partnership) for Ivy Tech graduates to transfer to Kelley, which has yielded very successful results.
Prior to Ivy Tech, Marva was the Program Chair for Business at Martin University. She was a faculty member at Martin University and Ivy Tech, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at several local colleges in the areas of business, healthcare management, and medical coding.
