Company recognizes CLD as a leader in social equity in Central Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS – The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) has received more than $10,000 from Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI). The gift to CLD is part of a larger initiative by FHLBI to support social equity in local communities. CLD is one of just two organizations from Indiana and Michigan to receive a gift as part of this campaign.
To mark the celebration of Juneteenth, FHLB’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion began its Social Justice Donation Campaign allowing employees to match the bank’s efforts to enrich the lives of minority youth within their community. FHLBI as an organization gave $6,500 to CLD with the organization’s employees graciously giving an additional $4,369 on top of the bank’s donation.
Through FHLBI’s donation, CLD can continue to provide high-impact programs that help overcome societal obstacles and advance social equity within Central Indiana. CLD offers a holistic youth development program that encourages Black youth to prepare for the highest levels of academic and professional success.
“We are extremely grateful that FHLBI has chosen to support CLD and recognize our organization as an advocate for social equity within Indianapolis,” said CLD President Dennis Bland. “Their donation allows us to reach more students who will be positively impacted by our programming.”
Donations like FHLBI’s help enrich the lives of the future generation and provide opportunities for personal development and educational attainment. Through CLD’s seventeen quality developmental programs for 4th-12th grade students and their families, Black youth are given preparation in the core values of character, education, leadership, service and career.
