Dr. Shaila Stayhorn

Dr. Strayhorn is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to starting her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Strayhorn received her PhD from the University of Memphis School of Public Health majoring in Social and Behavioral Science. She has also obtained a master’s in epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and bachelor’s in biology from Spelman College. Dr. Strayhorn’s research interest include assessing how factors of social support impact the quality of life among both cancer survivors and minority populations, who are at a high risk of cancer. Dr. Strayhorn is also a proud CLD alum (C’2006). She credits CLD for motivating her to stay disciplined and focused throughout her academic career. “Every session at CLD was facilitated by a successful community leader, who had a desire to see young minority students achieve academic success. Their words of encouragement still influence and push me to this day. I can only hope but to inspire other your minority students in the same way that my previous CLD facilitors inspired me”.

My name is Timdrick Stewart, new author of The Honor Roll Recipe.  I am originally from Indianapolis, IN. Completing CLD’s “Project Mr.” program is one of the many memories and accomplishments I have from my childhood.  Coincidentally, CLD introduced me to the needed information to become a productive scholar throughout my school years. In 2016, I received my bachelor’s degree in Accounting, while attending more than ten professional development conferences throughout the county.  In 2018, I received my master’s degree with a 3.8 GPA from Indiana State University. Upon graduation, I’ve become an entrepreneur, sport coach, and motivational speaker in the Atlanta, Ga area. I am the proud owner of Nettie B’s Mobile Car Wash. In 2019, I realeased my first book; The Honor Roll Recipe”, while also coaching Girl’s Varisty basketball at D.M Therrell High School.  Within my roles, I enjoy providing service to the community, students, and other supporters. I strive to network and motivate others to reach their optimal performance as a student, community member, employee, or employer.

Derrick Mackins

Derrick Mackins serves as the Account & Relationship Management Executive for Wolters Kluwer.  Derrick is responsible for growing and retaining existing Commercial Healthcare Accounts in Midwest/South Central by successfully renewing these accounts and upsell/cross-sell of Lexicomp, Medi-Span, eAnswers, UpToDate and Emmi Solutions.  Derrick joins the East Commercial Team with more than 19 years of experience in the Customer Service and Sales. The last 9 years have been with Wolters Kluwer CDI. During which, he had held a variety of positions including Renewals Specialist, Drug Information Specialist - Small Cap Hospitals and most recently Account Executive for the Pharma, Finance & Wholesalers markets. He’s a multi-year winner of the Quota Club award and one time Top Performer award winner. His strong skills in relationship management, new sales, training, service and product knowledge will make Derrick a valuable member of the team. In his free time, he loves to travel, spend time with his fiancé Cassandra and his granddaughter Trinity!

Fun Fact: D-Mack, as most of the team calls him, owns approximately 20 bow ties….including a wooden one!

Mason is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory operations, and risk assessment, with an emphasis on business processes and quality systems. Joy has managed international projects and effectively delivered results using six sigma methodologies for both public and private sectors. As an entrepreneur, Joy has helped clients dramatically improve their bottom line by applying her problem-solving techniques. Her strategies and techniques are proven to resolve process problems, evaluate risk, and save costs. Regina was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she is a 1988 graduate of IUPUI/Purdue University.  She has a MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master’s in Education from Walden University. Regina has been employed for State Auto Insurance Company for nearly 26 years as an Audit Specialist. Regina is a part-time adjunct facilitator at Ivy Tech Community College here in Indianapolis, IN and a facilitator of 14 years for The Center for Leadership Development of which she graduated from in 1981
