Join us for an interactive and informative workshop series geared towards helping students and their families prepare to reach goals of educational excellence and career achievement. Sessions are free and open to the public, and attendance at all workshops is not required. Register today and refer-a-friend!

21st Century Scholars Sign-Up

January 15, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Vanguard Collegiate
The 21st Century Scholarship is an Indiana scholarship opportunity that “provides students up to four years of undergraduate tuition at any participating public college and university in Indiana.” Students who are residents of Indiana are eligible to apply in 7th and 8th grade are expected to complete their grade level requirements. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity begin the process of applying for the 21st Century Scholarship while also gaining more information on the requirements and benefits on this scholarship. In partnership with Vanguard Collegiate.

Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math?

February 8, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Saint Joseph’s College of Marian University
Did you know that according to the Pew Research Center, “African Americans only represent 9% of STEM workforce?” African American students who are interested in STEM need exposure to these subjects in order to cultivate their skills and knowledge. During this workshop, participants will receive the opportunity to interact with local STEM organizations and hear about their upcoming opportunities.

Speakers include: Minority Engineering Program (Purdue University), Rose-Hulman School of Engineering and the Girls STEM Institute

HBCU Experience

February 27, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Center for Leadership Development
Are you interested in attending a Historically Black College/University (HBCU)? Join us for an informative session for both students and parents regarding the value of attending an HBCU! During the workshop, participants will be provided the opportunity to ask a panel about their experiences with attending an HBCU and how these experiences have assisted them in accomplishing their professional goals.

Private High School Application Process

April 30, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Center for Leadership Development

Center for Leadership Development (CLD) will be hosting a workshop that inform participants of the process to apply for private high schools including but not limited to interviews, entrance exams, and building relationships. Participants will also receive information about scholarships through CLD’s private high school partners.

This interactive workshop will provide insights to participants on how to apply, persist, and graduate successfully  from college. Topics will cover the application process, choose the best college fit, life on a college campus, extra-curricular activities and available resources.
