“From the age of 10 I always wanted to work in schools! For 24 years I have taught history and English in grades 7 through college. I returned to school myself when my daughter entered college, and I earned a M.S. in School Counseling in 2014 after doing my internship at CLD. I was immediately impressed by CLD’s caring staff and their commitment to excellence. In addition to my work here, I currently teach high school history, and I also work as a K-8th grade counselor for Horizons, a summer academic program for at-risk students in Indianapolis.”
Jeffrey specializes in: study skills, time management, success in the classroom, college preparation, growth mindset, college and scholarship searches and application essays.

“One of my great passions in life is helping young people determine future goals and plans. I say that I want to help them not make the same mistakes I made… and I’m not kidding! With over 20 years of experience in higher education and training, it’s my goal to motivate students to learn about themselves, consider a variety of career paths, and take active steps to achieve their dreams. Career-specific training as a Global Career Development Facilitator gives me additional insight into assessments, theories, workforce trends and more. I’m excited to support CLD students even more deeply on their educational and career journeys!”

“I take pride in having a work history that has always been geared towards uplifting the community. I worked for Youth Emergency Services as a Crisis Counselor for 5 years. While there, I provided resources to families that were involved with DCS. I was a Guidance Counselor for Indianapolis Public Schools’ for 10 years where I also served as the Director of Guidance. During that time, I ensured that a countless number of students met the requirements to graduate and move on to higher education. Within Indianapolis Public Schools’, I have worked for George Washington Community High School, Shortridge High School for Law and Public Policy and Arlington Community High School. In addition to being a Guidance Counselor, I’ve worked as a Home Based Case Worker for families that are involved with DCS.
